Karuč - What to do

A visit to the household of the Strugar family starts with guests’ coming by ship, after cruising around the lake.

In the shadow of old trees guests are served with domestic products (such as dried figs, pomegranate juice and brandy) and introduced to the history of the village and its inhabitants’ way of life.

The visit continues with a tour of the Tower of Saint Petar which provides a beautiful view on Karuč bay.

Accompanied by kind host Miodrag Strugar, visitors will get around the house, an old tavern with objects for different purposes. They comprise tools for hunting, fishing, living and working in the village, focusing on wickerwork. The tour ends with fish lunch made in traditional manner.

Besides inevitable fish soup, blended lake fish with boiled potatoes as a side dish, seasonal salad and fruit and homemade bread are served. Drinks on offer are domestic white and red wine and homemade pomegranate juice.
